It was late October, the weekend before Halloween, and although the meadow behind Hye Winery didn’t look like autumn, with long waving blades of grass, it was a bit chilly. The sun warmed us while a cool breeze made goosebumps rise on our arms when we stood in the shade.
Cassie and I have been friends for a while — we have shot side-by-side at numerous weddings together — and she told me she hired me because, above all else, she is most comfortable with me. “It’ll be like a hangout instead of a production,” she’d said, and I couldn’t think of a better compliment, that she trusted me and my vibe (and also my work), enough to have me there on her wedding day. (Her entire team of vendors were people she has worked with over the years and loved and trusted, so be sure to scroll down to the bottom to see everyone who helped make this event a success.)
And let me say this — I’ve known Cassie for years, and this is the happiest I’ve ever seen her. Absolutely blissed out, grinning a giant smile, laughing and hugging and just being so incredibly merry. David, you are an amazing person and I’m so glad that you both found such happiness. I just wanna hug you two all over again.
