Although these two lovebirds decided to tie the knot early in the middle of summer, it was already hot a little after sunrise. We shuffled our legs through tall stalks of drying grass to a shady spot on the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center grounds, where they exchanged heartfelt vows and grinned their way through their first kiss. Since it was a real elopement — neither of their families knew their plans, nor that they were even in Austin — I couldn’t share these for the longest time, so I’m glad to share them now.
