We’ve had our fair share of intense rain this year, and Samantha and Lloyd’s wedding day started off with heavy, dark clouds and torrential rain that blew sideways as I dashed through the parking lot. Inside the McKinney Cotton Mill, Sam and her twin quietly and peacefully put on their finishing touches and hoped that the rain wouldn’t slow the guests down too much. There were some design casualties — the outdoor luminaria were drowned and soggy — but the rest of the wedding went off without a hitch. And during dinner, when the rain had let up but the clouds were bright tropical colors, the light was buttery soft and perfect. I love when the rain lets up right before sunset — the photos turn out gorgeous.
If you’ve been following me for a long, long time, one of Sam’s bridesmaids will look familiar to you: I photographed Lauren (Sam’s twin sister)’s wedding way back in 2011. It was lovely seeing Lauren and Jared again, as well as a number of other familiar faces :)
This wedding was gorgeous from start to finish. Be sure to scroll down for a full list of vendors. If you are friends and family of Samantha and Lloyd, you can view their gallery here.
