After Aintzane was buttoned up into her wedding gown, her mother teared up and embraced her. Her soon-to-be sister-in-law presented her with an heirloom ring from Lee’s family, and they too teared up and embraced. Before stepping out of the door to see Lee for the first time in their respective wedding splendor, Aintzane asked me to not only capture their first look, but her bridesmaids’ and relatives’ reaction to their first look as well.
And I feel like that is a good way to describe the people that Aintzane and Lee are: they are so in love, they were so excited to see each other, but their wedding day wasn’t just about them — it was the inclusiveness of becoming a bigger and closer family. Aintzane’s relatives came from Spain, and those who couldn’t make it showed up in a video presentation during their reception toasts. The couple invited one of their favorite bands from Ohio, Von Stomper, to dine with them and then entertain them on the dance floor. And though their mainecoon, Mr. Butters, wasn’t at the wedding, these cat people (my people!) had little kitty touches: a cat cake topper, cat place card holders.
The day was beautiful, it was sweet, it was full of tears and laughter, singing and vigorous dancing. It was magical.
