      The day was far from sunny — rain poured down in sheets all afternoon, soaking bridesmaids’ shoes and creating a stack of umbrellas against the front door of the clubhouse where Coty and Bob were getting ready for their wedding day. It was uncharacteristic of Houston weather to be so wet, but the River Oaks Garden Club set up a clear tent and the scent of moist flowers filled the air during the couple’s ceremony.

      Guests giggled at the start of the processional: an instrumental version of Portal’s “Still Alive.” (Some guests later confided they were scared there wouldn’t be any cake — but they needn’t have worried!) They laughed and dabbed their eyes during the ceremony readings. Everyone cheered as the newly-married Coty and Bob clasped hands and skipped down the aisle to The Lego Movie‘s “Everything is Awesome.” We took photos in the maze of garden hedges and joked about Labyrinth. 

      This celebration was cheerful and touching, giggly and happy. Here are just a few of my favorites…

      I just love it that the couple wasn’t afraid to take photos out in the rain. I like the black and white close up of the portraits most of all.

      They are totally adorable…gah!!! And I love that it rained…it made the day that much more magical.
